so it has been so long since I started on self publishing the module Tomb of Kochun, I am no longer happy with the cover. So my buddy Grant Cooley talked me into redoing it as a piece that I can submit to Spectrum Art Book. This is the second stage sketch, after choosing from a thumbnail, I am now starting to lay in the final line work. I would love to hear peoples opinions on this.

So i was talking to Sam Flegal today about doing an interior illustration for a module I am self publishing when I realized I hadn’t ever posted the cover painting I finished for it. This is a little old, back when I was leaning more towards doing mainly digital for my illustration work.
This painting was finished for Dragoncon 2010, but just now getting a chance to post it. Click the image below to check it out !
Its out, and it features 10 (smaller) illustrations of mine. Not to mention it is a kick ass magazine for gamers!
(note below image is the cover by william o’conner, it is not my painting)
11×14, oil on paper.
This painting was a commission for Kobold Quarterly. It is the cover for the Summoner Advanced Feats (Pathfinder) book. The assignment was interesting, because they asked to have a halfling summoner summoning his Eidolon which had to be a cross of “cute but dangerous”. It is not very often that you try to combine those features into one creature.
