This was the main paintings I made for the Lovecraft show at Logue’s Black Raven Emporeum. The imagery comes from a half dream I had. I was almost asleep while thinking of the design for my final painting in the show. I saw a weird plane of existence, with a crack leading to another brighter plane. A strange flying machine floated in the distance and as I watched, a dark creature floated up its wings transparent and criss crossed with veins. I immediately jumped up and finished the sketch for the painting.
So I am missing the awesome Lovecraft show that is happening in Nashville tonight. I am pretty sad to miss such an epic event, but Gencon is epically entertaining me. But in honor of the show tonight I did this cthulhu drawing. Maybe it’s baby cthulhu?

Here is the latest photo of the 30 x 40 painting. I am calling it “the edge of madness”. Finished the first layer of the little flying machine on the left, next is to do a reference photoshoot for the flying cthulhu which will be on the right side of the canvas. So far I am pretty happy with the progress. I got the idea for the background when I was half dreaming imagining what a chaos dream plane would look like.
Just finished with the ink value drawing for my Dagon painting. This is for the lovecraft show happening next month.
